The Murphy suite

An open-plan suite with a foldaway queen-size bed, a living area with a sofa-bed and a dining table. The hotel calls it very spacious and singles out its view.

The layout

The Murphy suite is named after its bed: a queen that folds away into the wall, turning the room into a living space during the day. Around it the hotel lists a living area with a sofa-bed and a dining table. It is the only category whose official description mentions a view in its own right — "a stunning view" — which suggests these suites sit on a good side of the building, though the page stops short of saying which.

Who it is for

Small groups. Friends meeting before a show at the Théâtre du Casino can eat around the table from in-room dining (served from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.) and walk to their seats without going outside. A family can use the sofa-bed for a child. A business traveller can hold a meeting without booking a room in the conference centre.

It is less suited to a couple who simply want a bigger bedroom: the bed shares the space with everything else. The Junior suite is the better choice there.

Sleeping arrangements

Officially: one foldaway queen and one sofa-bed. The hotel publishes no maximum occupancy for the suite, so give our desk the exact number of adults and children and we will ask the hotel to confirm before anything is booked.

One step up

The One-bedroom suite combines the features of the Murphy suite with a classic room. If you like the Murphy's living space but want a separate bedroom with a fixed bed as well, that is the category to ask about.
