The commission
Every page ends with a short request form, and there is a fuller one on the request page. A request reaches our booking desk, not the hotel. The desk checks availability and the rate for your dates with the hotel's reservations team or with a booking partner that sells the hotel's rooms, and writes back. If you accept and the stay is confirmed and completed, the hotel or that partner pays us a commission. That commission is the site's only income.
What it does not change
- Your price. You pay what the hotel or the partner charges. Asking through us adds nothing. If we cannot match what you can get directly, we say so and point you to the hotel.
- Your card. We never ask for card details. Payment, deposits and cancellation terms are between you and whoever takes the booking, and we tell you who that is before you confirm.
- Our verdict. The hotel has not seen this site, approved it or paid for any of it. The verdict and the ratings summary would read the same if there were no commission.
- Gambling. We earn nothing from the casino, carry no gaming offers and link to no online gambling.
Advertising
The site carries no advertising at present and has no advertiser. If that ever changes, the advertiser will be named in the footer of every page, as it would be for any site we publish.
Why say all this
Because a guide that sells rooms has a reason to be optimistic about the rooms. The way to keep that honest is to print the weak points — valet suspended, conflicting parking information, service complaints in public reviews — next to the strong ones, and to tell you exactly how the money moves. You can then decide how much weight to put on what we write.
Your details
We use what you send only to answer the request and, if you go ahead, to arrange the stay with the hotel or the partner. Details are on the privacy page.
