What it is
A state casino run by Loto-Québec, opened on 24 March 1996 in what was then the city of Hull, under the name Casino de Hull. Wikipedia describes the building as set on a rocky precipice above a former cement quarry that is now Lac de la Carrière, with Leamy Lake to the east giving the casino its name. The hotel was added in 2001, along with the theatre and the conference centre.

Self-exclusion and facial recognition
Loto-Québec runs a self-exclusion programme. At this casino it uses biometric facial recognition for people who have enrolled and consented to having their features stored; if a face does not match the database, the operator says the person is not identified and no data is kept. Loto-Québec's own help pages describe exclusion periods from three months to five years, irrevocable once signed, arranged at any casino's customer-service desk.
Help, any time
Gambling: Help and Referral (Jeu : aide et référence) answers 24 hours a day, free and confidential: 1-800-461-0140 anywhere in Quebec, 514-527-0140 in the Montréal area. It also helps people worried about someone else's gambling. Our responsible gaming page has more.
Who oversees it
Quebec's state casinos are supervised by the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, which sets admission conditions and opening hours. The Régie's site was showing a maintenance notice when we tried to read its rules, so we link to it without quoting it.
Hotel guests do not need to enter the casino at all. The hotel, Arôme, the spa and the pools are reached from the hotel lobby.
