Two evenings, one building

Most people who book a night here come for one of two evenings. The first is slow: a few hours at Amerispa, the heated outdoor pool giving off steam in the cold, dinner at Arôme with Lac de la Carrière outside the window, and the lift upstairs. The second is louder: a tribute band or a comedy night at the Théâtre du Casino, a scotch at Bacchus beside the fireplace afterwards, and no taxi to find at midnight, because the theatre, the casino, the conference centre and the hotel are connected. The stays that work best here put the two evenings on consecutive days.

The address helps. The complex is in Gatineau, on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River, and Loto-Québec puts it about a ten-minute drive from downtown Ottawa. By the hotel's own count the ByWard Market is 4.1 km away and the Parliament Buildings 6.4 km. That makes it a calm base for a capital weekend rather than a resort you never leave.

Rooms that look at water

The hotel publishes five categories — the Classic with two queen beds, the Deluxe with one king, the Junior suite, the open-plan Murphy suite and the One-bedroom suite — plus Executive rooms and suites on the top three floors, served by their own elevator. Every room has bathrobes, a 47-inch screen, a mini fridge and free Wi-Fi.

The hotel describes views of Lac Leamy, Lac de la Carrière and the land around them, but never ties a view to a category. If the lake matters to you, say so in your request and we will ask for it.

An afternoon at Amerispa

The spa inside the hotel has seventeen treatment rooms, a steam bath and a sauna, and it shares the hotel's whirlpools and pools. The water facilities come with a spa package or with two or more hours of treatments. Doors open at 10 a.m. from Monday to Thursday and at 9 a.m. from Friday to Sunday.

A seat at the Théâtre du Casino

The hall takes 1,100 people in theatre rows or 770 at cabaret tables. Its calendar leans on tribute nights, Quebec chanson and comedy: La Bottine Souriante celebrates fifty years on 27 December 2026, and the published list already runs to Private Tina on 2 October 2027. Shows are for adults 18 and over unless a particular show says otherwise.

Dinner over Lac de la Carrière

Arôme is the hotel's seafood-and-grill room, serving from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a Sunday brunch and, in summer, a patio the hotel ranks among the best in the region. Across the connection, Bouquet — a new wine-and-cocktail restaurant on Level 3 of the casino with a view of Leamy Lake — lists its opening as 18 November.

After the curtain

Bacchus, in the hotel's Grand Hall, is the quiet option: leather armchairs, a fireplace, scotch, and a separate room for cigars bought on site. It stays open until midnight from Sunday to Thursday and until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. The louder options — Bar 7's bands and Aléa's DJs — are in the casino building.

Ottawa, one river away

The hotel's winter itinerary starts at the Parliament Buildings and the Rideau Canal Skateway, both under eight kilometres away, and its summer one ends with a stroll through the ByWard Market. Buses of the Société de transport de l'Outaouais stop at the complex, so a car is optional.
